Morrison is preparing to honor a living link to American history. Marvin Geerts, a World War Two sailor and survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack, is celebrating his 100th birthday. Morrison American Legion Post 328 will host a public recognition ceremony for Geerts on June 27th at 9 a.m. at Resthave Care and Rehabilitation.

The event will mark not only a century of life, but also Geerts’ remarkable 80 years of continuous American Legion membership. Community members are invited to attend and help recognize his service, resilience, and lasting commitment to fellow veterans.
