Young Creators Camp Vendor Pop-Up at Chalk the Walk
Sauk Valley Young Creators Camp will host a Vendor Pop-Up on Saturday, July 11th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Grandon Civic Center in Sterling during Chalk the Walk.
This vendor pop-up showcases the creativity, hard work, and business skills of 13 middle school student entrepreneurs who participated in the inaugural Sauk Valley Young Creators Camp.
Students grades 6-8th from Sterling, Dixon, Rock Falls, Polo, Leaf River, Morrison, and Erie have spent the past several weeks developing business ideas, creating products, building brands, and learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship.
The community will have the opportunity to shop a variety of unique, student-made products while meeting the young entrepreneurs behind each business. Items available for purchase will include original offerings developed by the students throughout the program such as cookies, coffee syrups, energy drinks, crocheted animals, stickers, and more.
The Sauk Valley Young Creators Camp is presented through a partnership between the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Sauk Valley Community College, Whiteside Area Career Center, the University of Illinois Extension, and 4-H. The program provides local middle school students with hands-on experience in business planning, marketing, pricing, customer service, and product development.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, shop local, and help support the next generation of business owners, makers, and innovators.
