Kewanee Chamber of Commerce Concert in The Park Cancelled for July 2nd

Today’s Concert in the Park, scheduled for July 2nd, has been cancelled due to predicted sustained triple-digit “feels like” temperatures. Organizers say the decision was made for the safety of both performers and the audience. At this time, there is no alternate location available, though the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce says they will try to reschedule Side Lyle Beaver & Brass Notes if possible. Residents are urged to take heat precautions: drink plenty of water, limit time outdoors, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day. You’re also encouraged to check on neighbors, especially older adults, and make sure pets have shade, water, and a cool place to rest.
