Prairie Chicken Arts Festival Now Accepting Entries for July 18, 2026, Art Show

Artists are invited to take part in the 2026 Prairie Chicken Art Show in Kewanee. The show will be held Saturday, July 18th, from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Hog Days Building, 306 North Main Street. Entries are free, with a limit of three per artist, and participants must have completed their freshman year of high school. Categories include photography, painting, graphic art and drawing, and three-dimensional art. Prizes will be awarded in each category, with a special tribute prize honoring Kewanee artist Dave Washburn. Art drop-off is Thursday, July 16th, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM at the Hog Days Building.

Pickup from the Art Show is from 3 to 4:30 PM on Saturday, July 18th. Entry forms, rules, and details are available at the Kewanee Public Library and the “Prairie Chicken Arts Festival” Facebook page.

A reminder for anyone with artwork awaiting pickup: pieces not collected by 4:30 PM Saturday will need to be picked up by appointment. Organizers are asking artists or buyers to make arrangements directly to avoid missed connections and help keep the pickup process orderly.
