Four IVCC Students Earn Scholarships to Attend Northern Illinois University

Four Illinois Valley Community College students are heading to Northern Illinois University this fall with major scholarship support. Nathan Hansen of LaSalle and Melanie Kaminski of Marseilles received STEM scholarships, while Ethan Askeland of Granville and Bria Frey of Ottawa earned accountancy scholarships. Each will receive $10,0000 for junior-year expenses, renewable for senior year. The awards were created by IVCC and NIU alumni William and Dian Taylor of Winnetka. The students bring experience ranging from physics tutoring and engineering work to investment internships, restaurant management, and community service.
