Kewanee Rotary, the Salvation Army, and First Christian Church are teaming up for another Community Day at the Pool and Giveaway on Saturday, July 25th

Kewanee families are invited to a day of support and summer fun on Saturday, July 25th, as the Rotary Club of Kewanee hosts its 5th Annual Community Day at the Pool, Backpack, and Clothing Distribution. The event begins at 11 AM with free backpacks and school supplies for school-age children, available while supplies last. Free clothing will also be distributed to individuals and families in need. Then, at noon, Northeast Oasis Pool opens for a free community swim day, courtesy of the Rotary Club of Kewanee, which runs until 6 PM. Organizers say last year’s event handed out 429 backpacks, and they hope to reach 500 this year. First Christian Church will also hand out free blessing boxes from their food pantry during the event. Donations are still welcome. Organizers say the goal is helping families get ready for school while bringing the community together.
