A 10-year-old female from Geneseo died in a traffic crash in Missouri on July 24th

The City of Geneseo is mourning the loss of two residents who died in a motor vehicle crash in Missouri on July 24, 2026. A 34-year-old male was seriously injured, and a 10-year-old female died in a 3-vehicle accident in Laclede County, Missouri. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 76-year-old Lebanon, Missouri, woman turned onto Highway 5 into the path of a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Geneseo man. His vehicle struck hers, crossed the roadway, and then hit a third vehicle driven by a 71-year-old Columbia, Missouri woman.

The juvenile female was flown by Mercy Life Flight to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, where she was declared deceased. The male driver from Geneseo was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Lake Regional in Camdenton, Missouri, with serious injuries. The female driver from Columbia was transported by Mercy EMS to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon with moderate injuries. The female driver from Lebanon was transported by Mercy EMS to Lake Regional in Camdenton with moderate injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has not released the identities of those involved in the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
