Southwest Iowa farmer Duane Aistrope says he has several concerns heading into the growing season.

“The prices of our grain right now,” he said. “We’ve got to get our demand up to move our product overseas.”

He tells Brownfield producers also need a new five-year farm bill.

“We extended the farm bill one year, and so I’m hoping we can get something in place before the election season comes around and we get something for next year.”

Aistrope says farm safety net programs need a boost in funding.
