A leader with the Iowa Soybean Association says Southeast Asia is a growing market for US soybeans.

ISA President Suzanne Shirbroun says the region has helped put more value into soy exports. “Global demand for protein has increased more than 250% since 1999,” she said. “So many of these international markets that we see today didn’t exist for US soy 60 years ago.”

She tells Brownfield Southeast Asia’s animal protein consumption is projected to increase 20% over the next five years.
