Anderson Taylor of Cambridge has set a new world record as the youngest male museum curator, officially recognized by Guinness World Records. Anderson was just 9 years and 340 days old when he opened the Cambridge Natural History Museum, a project that grew from his love of fossils, minerals, and natural history on August 10, 2024. The museum, located at 132 W. Center Street, now features extensive exhibits, thanks to community donations and support. Anderson, now 11, shares his passion through educational programs and is leading efforts to raise $50,000 for the museum’s permanent home.
“This museum exists because of the kindness and support of so many people,” said Anderson Taylor. “I’m really grateful to everyone who believed in the idea and helped make it possible.”
Anderson is now spearheading a fundraising campaign to secure the museum’s permanent location and fund continued renovations, new exhibits, and expanded educational programming. So far, $20,000 has been raised, with $30,000 still needed. Planned expansions include interactive exhibits and special events designed to engage visitors of all ages. Supporters can learn more and get involved by visiting the “Cambridge Natural History Museum” Facebook page or stopping by the museum in downtown Cambridge.
