Cambridge High School Leaders Participate in Youth Advisory Council at State Capitol

Four senior leaders from Cambridge High School, Ellie Doubet, Adrianna Jewett, Emily Downing, and Jolene Blackert, joined Senator Neil Anderson’s Youth Advisory Council in Springfield, participating in an immersive day at the State Capitol. The students toured the historic building, engaged in hands-on discussions with Senator Anderson, Representative Weaver, and lobbyist Matt Murphy, gaining firsthand insight into the legislative process. Highlights included a Mock Bill Committee Hearing, where the students experienced debating and shaping proposed legislation. The event offered a unique look into state government operations and aimed to inspire civic involvement among young leaders. This unique opportunity allowed the students to interact with policymakers and learn about lawmaking firsthand, inspiring increased civic engagement as they prepare for future leadership roles within their communities.
