The Colona man charged for displaying a gun at the security checkpoint in the Henry County Courthouse will remain detained until trial. James Demink waived his Preliminary Hearing on January 2, 2024, and has a Jury Pre-Trial scheduled for January 18, 2024, at 9 AM. Mr. Demink had a detention hearing on December 28, 2023, and the court approved the State’s Petition for Pretrial Detention because less restrictive restrictions would not guarantee the defendant would appear in court and not flee the jurisdiction.
