History enthusiasts and curious minds are invited to uncover ancient secrets at the Princeton Public Library on June 4th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The University of Illinois Extension is hosting “Fossils of the Illinois Valley,” spotlighting the extraordinary fossil discoveries of the region, including treasures from the renowned Mazon Creek beds. The event aims to transport attendees back 300 million years, offering insight into a prehistoric Illinois once blanketed by lush swamps. Participants will learn about the area’s geological transformations and see how fossils help reconstruct the region’s ancient ecosystems.
