May is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month

May marks National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, and the Henry and Stark County Health Departments, along with First Choice Healthcare Clinics, are highlighting available family planning and reproductive health services. Access to reproductive health services just got easier for residents in our area. The First Choice Healthcare Clinics in Kewanee and Toulon are providing annual physical exams—covering breast exams, pap smears, pregnancy testing, and contraceptive services. Not just for birth control, many adolescents use these services for menstrual regulation or even acne management. Both Medicaid and private payments are accepted, and a sliding fee scale is available to make care affordable. Grant funding may further assist those who qualify.

First Choice Healthcare Clinics in Kewanee and Toulon are currently accepting appointments for their services. Residents can schedule a visit by contacting the Kewanee location at 110 North Burr Boulevard, phone number 309-852-5272, or the Toulon clinic at 120 East Court Street, phone number 309-852-3115. Prior appointments are required to ensure timely care. For further details on programs or to arrange a visit, check the official website at www.henrystarkhealth.com. Updates and additional information are also available via the Henry and Stark County Health Departments’ Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
