May 11
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 4 th Ave to speak to a citizen who witnessed a domestic
disturbance in their neighborhood the prior day.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NE 6 th Ave for a parking complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NE 2 nd Street for a theft report.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of SE 2 nd Street, Beth Shappard, 23, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was processed at the Galva PD and released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 9 th Ave for a loose dog complaint. Officer was not able to locate.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a 9-1-1 open line complaint. It was determined to be a mis dial.
May 12
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 2 nd Ave to speak to a resident about a found cat.
While patrolling, officer noticed a railroad crossing arm malfunction at the NE 6 th Ave crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 1 st Ave for a property dispute / theft report.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 2 nd Street for a complaint involving a loose dog. The owner arrived and took dog home before officer’s arrival.
Officer assisted Bureau Co with checking 2 Galva residences in an attempt to locate a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that occurred near Princeton.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of North Center Ave for a parking complaint.
May 13
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of South Center Ave for a loose dog complaint. Approximately two hours later, the dog was located in the 900 block of SE 8 th Street. The dog was returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 6 th Street for a 9-1-1 call that plotted there. It was confirmed to be a mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NW 1 st Ave for a complaint involving a group of juveniles causing mischief.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of SW 3 rd Ave for a complaint of a special needs child that had wandered away from home. Officer stayed with child until a parent was contacted and responded to pick child up.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to renew their quarterly sex offender registration. A completed from was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
May 14
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 8 th Ave for a complaint involving an illegal burn. A resident was attempting to burn garbage. The fire was extinguished.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave for a battery complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the south edge of town to watch for a reckless driver. Officer was not able to locate.
May 15
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 1 st Street for a tree branch blocking part of the roadway. It was removed.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street for a special needs child that appeared to have wondered off from home. The child was located at Wiley Park and returned to a caregiver.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SE 6 th Ave for a juvenile complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 5 th Ave for a property line / trespassing complaint.
Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about posted weight limits on various roads in town.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9 th Street for a domestic disturbance. As the result, Donald Ensley, 39, Galva, was arrested for domestic battery. He was taken to the Henry Co Jail.
May 16
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 2 nd Street for a tree limb that had fallen in the roadway. It was removed.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 7 th Ave for a tree limb that had fallen in the roadway. It was removed.
Officer was dispatched to meet a complainant at the Galva PD in reference to an attempted scam.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a loud noise complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NE 9 th Street for a civil property dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a verbal disturbance complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 10 th Ave for a neighbor dispute.
May 17
Officer was dispatched to the Galva PD to register a sex offender. A completed form was emailed to Henry Co for LEADS entry.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a resident that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on SE 8 th Ave for a welfare check. The subject was fine.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 2 nd Ave for a loose dog complaint.
