Galva Police Report for April 27, 2026, through May 3, 2026
April 27
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 4 th Ave for a utility wire that was laying across the roadway. It was determined to be a cable wire and was rolled up onto the terrace.
While patrolling, officer located a loose dog in the roadway on Route 34. The dog was impounded and was later returned to it’s owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SE 3 rd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. It was determined to be a child playing with a phone.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of NE 2 nd Street for a complaint involving ATVs driving on the roadway. Officer did not locate them.
April 28
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NE 2 nd Street to deliver a message.
Officer assisted Henry Co with a civil paper service in the 00 block of SW 4 th Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 4 th Street for a solicitor complaint. The subject was located and was referred to city hall to obtain a permit.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 2 nd Street for a 9-1-1 hang up complaint. Officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
April 29
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of SW 3 rd Street for a possible violation of an order of protection.
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 1 st Ave to deliver a message for Henry Co.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 7 th Ave for a verbal disturbance involving juveniles.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NE 1 st Ave for a civil dispute involving removal of property.
Officer assisted the ambulance with a medical emergency just west of town.
While patrolling, officer noticed a train had stopped and was blocking all Galva railroad crossings. BNSF was contacted and advised it was a mechanical issue. It eventually moved along after repairs.
April 30
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SW 2 nd Ave for a barking dog complaint. The animal owner was warned and advised.
Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West Division Street for a property line dispute.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of James B Young Road for a disabled vehicle complaint.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of SE 6 th Street for a traffic complaint involving a juvenile passing a stopped school bus. The juvenile was located and warned.
Officer, along with the street department, were dispatched to the 00 block of SE 5 th Ave for a large tree limb that fell partially onto a porch / house.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 2 nd Street for a debit card that had been located and turned in.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NE 3 rd Street for a verbal disturbance.
May 1
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 5 th Street for a runaway juvenile complaint. The juvenile returned home as officer was taking report.
Officer was flagged down in the 100 block of Market Street to assist a citizen.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6 th Ave for a disorderly conduct complaint involving telephone harassment.
Officer met with a resident at the Galva PD to take a complaint involving disorderly conduct.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of SE 2 nd Street to speak to the owner of an abandoned vehicle located in Annawan.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street for a complaint involving a subject that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to a residence on NW 5 th Street for a welfare check.
May 2
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Front Street for a fight involving several subjects. This case remains under investigation.
Officer was dispatched to assist Kewanee PD with a welfare check on NW 7 th Street. Officer did not locate the subject.
Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of NW 7 th Ave for a civil standby to retrieve property.
May 3
Officer was dispatched to the 700 block of NW 4 th Street to assist a citizen that appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.
Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of NW 2 nd Ave for a loose dog complaint.
