Geneseo Police and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing incident on April 10, 2026, around 4:30 PM, outside 100 Bestor Drive. Officers found a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency crews provided treatment at the scene before transporting her to a nearby hospital. Authorities identified the suspect as Ilir Ilemi, 31, who was apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene on foot. Ilemi was transported to a local hospital for previous medical issues and questioned at the Geneseo Police Department following his release from the hospital. He was transported to the Henry County Jail and is facing charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Domestic Battery. Police are continuing their investigation and have assured the community that there is no ongoing threat.
