Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted 39 traffic stops, which resulted in 36 traffic citations, during the Federal Fiscal Year 2024 Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP).  The STEP grant year ran from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024.

Activity included:

25 occupant restraint citations
2 distracted driving citations
1 no valid driver’s license citation
2 speeding citations
6 other citations

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office participated in this effort to save lives by focusing on the leading contributory causes of crashes: speeding, impaired driving, electronic device use, failure to yield and disobeying traffic control signals, as well as occupant restraint violations.

The STEP campaign was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois
Department of Transportation.
