Illinois State Police Investigate Homicide of Catrelle Reed from Kewanee

Illinois State Police are investigating a homicide in Henry County after a search for a missing Kewanee man led to the discovery of a body. On May 27, 2025, Kewanee Police requested state assistance in locating Catrelle Reed, who had been reported missing on May 22nd. Three days later, Reed was found deceased on a property near Highway 81 and East 2350th Street, just west of Kewanee. An autopsy conducted on June 2nd confirmed the manner of death was homicide. Funeral services for Catrelle L. Reed, age 39, of Kewanee, have been scheduled for 11 AM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, with Pastor Stephen McGough officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects during a visitation an hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
