Illinois Valley Community College is encouraging the community to roll up their sleeves for a blood drive on April 2nd, from 11 AM to 4 PM in the campus gym. The event comes as local hospitals work to rebuild blood reserves that often drop during winter months due to harsh weather and seasonal illnesses. LeeAnn Johnson, advisor for the sponsoring Red Cross Club, highlights spring as an ideal time to give, emphasizing the potential to save lives. Those interested in donating can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visiting RedCrossBlood.org. Every donation can make a crucial difference.

“Spring is the perfect time to donate so that hospitals can replenish their blood supplies and save many lives in the process,” said LeeAnn Johnson, who advises the campus Red Cross Club, which is sponsoring the drive.
