Illinois Valley Community College is hosting its annual Art Show from April 13th through April 24th, featuring sculptures, pottery, drawings, paintings, photographs, and more by talented high school and college artists. Displays stretch through the hallways outside the Humanities and Fine Arts Division office, with select works showcased in the campus lobby. Pieces will be judged for Best in Show in both 2D and 3D categories, and the public can cast votes for the People’s Choice award. An awards reception takes place on April 17th at 5 PM. Artists from local high schools and IVCC are competing for scholarships, prizes, and the honor of having their work acquired by the college. La Salle-Peru, Putnam County, St. Bede Academy, Ottawa, DePue, Woodland, Fieldcrest, and Streator schools participated in the art show.

Two distinguished figures are set to evaluate talent at the upcoming art show. IVCC art instructor Shannon Slaight will be joined on the judging panel by Matthew Adams, artist and curator at the Prairie Arts Council in Princeton.
