Kewanee Police recovered a stolen car thanks to the FLOCK license plate reader system. Kewanee Police received a notification last night, around 11:42 PM, that a FLOCK license plate reader camera detected a possible stolen vehicle in Kewanee. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Streator, Illinois. Officers conducted a search in Kewanee and located the vehicle in the Kewanee Walmart parking lot. The three occupants in the vehicle were taken into custody, all three are juveniles. A 17-year-old male juvenile was charged with Possession of a stolen vehicle, he was released to his mother with a Henry County juvenile referral form. Two juvenile were released without charges.
The owners of the vehicle were contacted and the vehicle was released to them .
