Kewanee High and Central Schools Educators Honored with Top State Awards for Excellence and Service

Kewanee CUSD 229 is celebrating statewide recognition for two of its standout educators. Amy Miler from Kewanee High School has received the Award of Excellence, the highest honor from the Illinois State Board of Education’s 2026 Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program. As a Spanish teacher and Key Club advisor, Miler is praised for her dynamic spirit and dedication to student achievement. Meanwhile, Alicia Ralston of Central Elementary and Junior High has earned the Award of Meritorious Service for her commitment as a 5th-grade teacher and instructional coach, mentoring both students and colleagues. Congratulations to both educators on this achievement.
