Kewanee High School celebrates senior Kalleigh Gale’s commitment to play women’s softball at Augustana College in Rock Island, beginning in the Fall of 2026. Gale, a four-year varsity athlete, helped lead the Boilers to back-to-back conference championships in 2024 and 2025. Augustana’s softball team concluded its 2025 season with an impressive 28-14 record, excelling in conference play, and will kick off its 2026 campaign at home on March 16th, in a home doubleheader against Buena Vista. Supporters, including family, Coach Josh Hicks, and teammates, were present for Gale’s signing, marking a proud moment for the Kewanee community and its storied softball program.
