Kewanee High School is celebrating a special achievement as one of its own has been named Agriculture Teacher of the Year. This recognition comes alongside honors for three other standout educators from the region, all celebrated at this year’s Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education Conference (IACTE). Four outstanding members of the Illinois Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers were honored this year at the IACTE Conference. Sue Schafer received the Champion for Career and Technical Education Award, recognizing her advocacy and leadership. Gary Ochs was named Teacher Educator of the Year for his excellence in preparing future instructors. Kindra Callahan earned the title of Teacher of the Year, celebrating her commitment in the classroom. Mike White was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame Award. Their dedication continues to inspire students and strengthen agriculture education across the state.
