The group explored Little Village, sampling treats at Dulcelandia and practicing Spanish over lunch at Los Comales. A visit to a local ice cream shop challenged students to order in Spanish, deepening their language skills. At the Art Institute, highlights included the chance to view a Frida Kahlo exhibit, as well as works by Dalí and Picasso, sparking discussions on art and resilience. Wrapping up at Millennium Park with the famous Bean, students reflected on the powerful connections between language and culture. The trip was funded by the Kewanee Schools Foundation.
