The Kewanee Animal Shelter is appealing to the community for urgent donations to help care for their furry residents. The Henry County Humane Society in Kewanee is specifically requesting canned kitten food and cat food—preferably pate blends—as well as any brand of canned dog food. In addition, everyday supplies like clumping cat litter, baking soda for cat litter boxes, dish soap, laundry soap, and floor cleaner are needed. Other essentials include 13-gallon trash bags, Q-tips, disinfecting wipes, manila file folders, index cards, and rolls of Scotch tape. Community support is vital to maintain clean, comfortable conditions and ensure the well-being of the animals. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during regular hours. The shelter is located at 197 Fischer Avenue, and they are open seven days a week from 8 to 11 AM and 4 to 6 PM.
