Kewanee Police Arrest Two After Property Damage and Firearm Threat Incident

Early Sunday, April 12, 2026, Kewanee Police responded to a call on East Church Street regarding property damage and threats involving a firearm. Officers found several individuals outside and learned that two people had allegedly approached the residence, damaged a basement window, and displayed a weapon. Investigators identified Ryker Jackson, 18, and Riley Werderman, 19, both from Kewanee, as suspects. Werderman was taken into custody at the scene, while Jackson was arrested later following a search of a Percil Court residence, where officers found evidence and contraband.

Ryker Jackson is charged with Aggravated Assault (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Cannabis 30 to 100 grams (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver 30 to 100 grams (Class 3 Felony), Criminal Damage to Property (Class A Misdemeanor), and two counts of Disorderly Conduct (Class C Misdemeanor). Jackson was granted pretrial release and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 27, 2026.

Riley Werderman was issued a Notice to Appear for Disorderly Conduct (Class C Misdemeanor) and Harassment through Electronic Communication (Class B Misdemeanor).
