Kewanee Receives 2025 AARP Grant for Community Enhancements, Event on August 19, 2025

Kewanee has been chosen as one of 383 recipients of the 2025 AARP Community Challenge grant, announced by AARP Liveable Communities and AARP Illinois. This recognition highlights efforts to make the city more accessible and welcoming for people of all ages. Thanks to the grant funding, a special event will take place at the Henry County Senior Center on August 19th from 3 to 5 PM. The gathering will spotlight safe home modifications, aiming to support older adults in living comfortably and independently in their own homes.
