Kewanee Community Unit School District #229 has received a major boost for its “Boilermaker Ave” project, thanks to a heartfelt donation from the Athletic Hall of Fame. The contribution, presented by Hall of Fame Chairman Matt Costenson, honors the memory of John Blachinsky, whose legacy remains closely tied to the Boilermakers community. Superintendent Rebecca Baney expressed excitement about the project, sharing a glimpse of a custom wall wrap that will soon enhance the main corridor connecting Brockman Gym and the Golby Student Center. The artwork aims to honor Kewanee High School’s storied athletic and educational traditions.
