The brief lockdown of two Kewanee schools was due to a U.S. Marshals operation executing arrest warrants. Irving Elementary School and Visitation Catholic School were locked down for less than 15 minutes while law enforcement executed arrest warrants in the area. The schools were locked down “out of an abundance of caution.” Two people were arrested by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday, February 3rd, with assistance from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Kewanee Police Department . The Kewanee Police Department said the two wanted people were arrested without incident. The Facebook post by the Kewanee Police Department received more attention than the warrant executions by the U.S. Marshals.

Andrew J Eagelston, 20, of Wyoming was arrested on an extraditable warrant from Bureau County on charges of armed robbery, aggravated vehicle hijacking, and aggravated kidnapping. The Kewanee Police Department wasn’t  provided the name or warrant details of the other person arrested.
