Commuters in the Quad Cities should prepare for lane closures on Interstates 74 and 280 as construction resumes. Monday, April 6th. Motorists can expect lane closures this season as work begins on the westbound lanes of I-74 at the U.S. 6 interchange. The Illinois Department of Transportation is launching an $11.5 million project to resurface roadways and ramps from the Henry County line to the Milan Beltway, focusing this year on the westbound lanes. Travelers can expect one lane to be closed during the upgrades, with completion targeted for July.

This effort is part of a much larger Rebuild Illinois initiative, which has delivered nearly $20.8 billion in upgrades statewide so far, targeting thousands of highway miles and bridges.
