First responders in Illinois are invited to participate in an eight-hour large animal rescue training session on Saturday, March 28th, starting at 9 AM at Black Hawk East in Galva. Hosted by County Farm Bureaus, the course is tailored for fire, police, EMS, sheriff’s departments, DNR, and Forest Preserve Officers. Attendees will learn essential rescue techniques involving horses and cows, including animal haltering, rescue drags, trailer safety, and vertical lifts.
