Moline Police Department Launches a new Online Reporting System for Non-Emergency Incidents

The Moline Police Department has launched an innovative solution for residents to report minor offenses without leaving their homes. The new Desk Officer Reporting System is an online portal where non-emergency incidents such as vandalism or petty theft can be documented. This approach not only streamlines the process for residents but also helps prioritize police resources for more critical needs. Officials are optimistic that this digital shift will enhance overall efficiency and community satisfaction. Residents are encouraged to utilize this new system for relevant incidents.

Moline soft-launched this system in February and, through a small sample size, tested the application to ensure proper functionality. Over two months, the Moline Police Department accepted 21 reports, which transitioned well from the online system into our records system. The project began in July 2023.
