MPD Receives #HealingIllinois Grant

MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Police Department (MPD) has announced that they were the recipient of a Healing Illinois grant.

In a press release Macomb Police Chief Jeff Hamer stated that Macomb Police Department was being awarded a grant for training and education, and that as a Healing Illinois sub-grantee the MPD is excited to create community-centered, inclusive, and safe spaces to talk, learn, and grow through their inclusivity training initiative.

Healing Illinois is a racial healing initiative of the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Field Foundation of Illinois (FFI) that is focused on building the foundation for long-term racial healing and anti-racism in Illinois. It joins organizations across the state who will be provided with resources to engage in racial healing activities that aim to help build bridges between and among the diverse communities in Illinois.
