No Injuries in Early Morning Fire at Galesburg Industrial Building on February 2, 2026

The Galesburg Fire Department responded swiftly to a structure fire at 4:36 this morning at 701 West 6th Street, in an industrial manufacturing building. Smoke and flames were seen pouring from the south side when Battalion Chief Matt Cain arrived and established command. Firefighters from all three city stations tackled the blaze, with crews entering the building and taking hoses to the roof. Rapid teamwork kept the fire contained, and a search confirmed there were no victims or injuries. An emergency callback brought off-duty personnel in for continued city coverage. Investigators have ruled the fire unintentional, with assistance from Galesburg Police and Ameren.
