Megan Hewitt Served as Page for A Day in the Illinois House of Representatives
Megan Hewitt, a soon-to-be senior at Quad Cities Christian School, experienced the legislative process firsthand by serving as a Page for a Day in the Illinois House of Representatives. Invited by State Representative Dan Swanson, Megan took part in key activities, including the annual Memorial Day ceremony and active House discussions. Aside from her academic achievements and involvement in the National Honor Society, Megan is dedicated to volunteer work and student leadership. For more updates and general assembly news, residents can visit Representative Swanson’s website at repswanson.com.
“It was very nice to have Megan at the Capitol for the beginning of what promises to be a busy and interesting week,” Swanson said. “She observed the annual Memorial Day ceremony, heard discussion of resolutions and got to see the inner workings of the House.”
Megan’s impressive journey continues as she sets her sights on a career in physical therapy. Active both academically and in her community, Megan has balanced roles in the National Honor Society, student council, and as a Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy member. She’s left her mark in athletics, managing the soccer team and playing basketball, while lending her creative talents as newsletter co-editor for two years. Volunteer work at River City Church and the John Deere Classic golf tournament round out her résumé. In Springfield, she celebrates her achievements with her mother, Annie, as she prepares for college this fall.
