Attempted Murder Suspect Apprehended in Rural Sterling

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Officers have apprehended a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder case. On Saturday, February 17th, acting on intelligence from the Davenport Police Department, officers located a Gray GMC Terrain, believed to be linked to a murder attempt in Davenport, Iowa. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of US-30 and Moline Road in rural Sterling.

Three individuals were detained, one of whom, Chicago resident Christopher Banks, aged 39, was arrested under a nationwide extradition warrant issued by Davenport Police. The other two detainees, unrelated to the incident, were released at the scene. Mr. Banks currently awaits extradition to Iowa in Whiteside County Jail.
