Data Center Back in Discussion
Rock Falls Alderman Marshall Doane is taking concerns over possible data center development to the county level. Doane plans to submit a formal petition at the County Board meeting, following growing public pushback tied to a 387-acre real estate listing near Nelson, along Interstate 88 and U.S. 30.
Residents have raised questions about land use, infrastructure demands, environmental impact, and transparency surrounding future development plans. While no finalized project has been confirmed, the size and location of the listing have fueled speculation. County officials are expected to receive the petition as community members continue pressing for answers.
