Farm Bureau Summer Teacher Trainings Offered

Teachers can plan to go back to the classroom this summer, this time as the student! Ag in the Classroom and the County Farm Bureau are providing two different educational opportunities. June 5th-6th, Summer Ag Institute (2-day course). This two-day class will be held in Dixon and Moline.

It will focus on John Deere, his move west and how his invention of the plow changed the agricultural industry. Tours will be held each day. Teachers will also hear from Illinois Ag in the Classroom staff about lessons they can take into the classroom next fall.

June 7th & 8th, Ag in a Day (1- or 2-day workshop). The first day we will host tours in Peoria which will include the zoo, botanical gardens and more. The second day we will meet in Galesburg for a classroom day where teachers will hear about resources and lessons, they can take back to the classroom next school year.

Continuing Educational Credits have been applied for at the Regional Office of Education. If you have any questions or would like to register for either training, contact the Farm Bureau office at (815) 875-6468 for more details.
