IDOT Road Work Continues
Drivers using the U.S. 30 Gateway Bridge in Fulton should plan for changing conditions this summer. IDOT says concrete sealing work continues on the Mississippi River bridge, bringing daily lane closures controlled by flaggers and minor delays through late July. Motorists are urged to slow down and stay alert in the work zone.
There’s also a nighttime change: roadway lights on the bridge have been shut off to help reduce seasonal mayfly swarms gathering on the pavement. IDOT says the lights will remain off until September 22nd, so drivers crossing after dark should use extra caution.
