City of Kewanee Asks Residents to be Patient with Snow Removal

After pulling plows off the road overnight, the City of Kewanee road crews have been working on streets since 3 AM and are asking residents to be patient as they work to clear roads as fast as they safely can.  They are warning people to be cautious of ice as the melted snow from Friday froze overnight.

The City of Kewanee said in an Facebook post:  “Our Public Works staff has been back at it since 3:00 a.m., but we still want to warn people. It is very cold out. Anything that melted yesterday is frozen now, so watch out for ice and if you have to travel, be careful. Also, the latest snow is a fine powder that drifts easily, so areas that were passable may have drifted over. Please be patient as we do our best to clear the roads.”
