KHS Soccer hosted Oregon HS on October 5th. Both the varsity and JV teams won their matches 1-0. Student photographer Ra’Kiya Amos, a junior, took the attached picture of senior Cristian Diaz.

Kewanee ran in Elmwood on Saturday, October 5th, in the Elmwood Invitational.  Girls Nolie Charlet was Kewanee’s top finisher at 50th place with a time of 21:24.50, Alejandra Martinez finished 89th with a time of 23:20.20, Esmeralda Martinez finished in 113th at 24:30.90, and Tiffany Helton in 181st with a 30:53.20. For the boys Jordan Housely ran a 17:58.30 and Jermain McKnight ran 19:57.60 in the 2.55 mile F/S race finishing in 32nd and 49th places. In the varsity boys race Jason Rusk finished the 3 mile race in 80th place with a time of 18:22.80 and Mitchal Thorp in 184th with a time of 22:10.20. Kewanee heads to Erie on Tuesday.


Kewanee Boilermaker Varsity volleyball fell to Alleman 2-1. The freshman and sophomore teams won against Alleman.

Coach Jeff King said, “The Kewanee Boilermakers Cross Country teams ran in the Panther Invitational at Erie on Tuesday. The two medalists for the Boilers were Nolie Charlet finishing 4th with a personal best of 20:50.43 and Alejandra Martinez finishing 12th with her best of 22:32.68. Other finishers for the girls were Esmeralda Martinez finishing 20th running at 23:46.25 and Tiffany Helton in 49th with a 29:28. On the boys side Jason Rusk missed a medal by one place finishing 16th with a time of 18:11.29, next for the Boilers was Mitchal Thorp in 52nd running 21:38.94 then Jermain McKnight in 56th at 22:22.77. Kewanee will travel to Amboy on Monday.”
