Kewanee hosted a competitive boys’ and girls’ track meet on April 9th at Breedlove–Petersen Track. The Kewanee boys secured first place with 82 points. The Kewanee Boilermakers boys track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at their home season opener, besting Monmouth-Roseville, ROWVA, Sterling Newman, and St. Bede. Kewanee dominated the relay events, earning three out of four victories and setting new season-best times, highlighted by the 4×800 team finishing in 8:47.60 and the 4×400 team posting a time of 3:46.59. Standout individual achievements included Anthony Padilla’s win in the 110-meter hurdles and Chris Crowe’s high jump victory at 6 feet, 2 inches. Damareon Thomas secured first in the triple jump, while Dontel Wommack claimed the pole vault.
On the girls’ side, Kewanee placed third, highlighted by Jendayia Crowe’s double gold in the hurdles and a runner-up finish in the 4×800 relay. ROWVA Williamsfield took the girls’ team title, while Kewanee athletes set multiple personal bests across events. Find the full list of scores here.
