KPD Street Crimes Arrest Champaign Woman for Meth Delivery and Possession

On December 31, 2024, A routine traffic stop by the Kewanee Police Street Crimes Unit in the 500 block of South Main Street resulted in the arrest of Rochelle Sampson, 42, from Champaign. Sampson was initially arrested for driving on a revoked license. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 178 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a bludgeon club, cannabis, scales, packaging materials, and cash. Sampson, who was driving on a revoked license, faces multiple charges, including possession and intent to deliver methamphetamine, among other offenses. Sampson is being held on a parole warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Rochelle Sampson is charged with Methamphetamine Delivery 100<400 Grams (Class X Felony), Possession of Meth 100<400 Grams (Class X Felony), Possession of Open Title (Class 4 Felony), and Possession of Weapon by a Felon (Class A Misdemeanor) for case 2025CF1. The state filed a petition to deny pretrial release on January 2, 2025.
