The Macomb Park District Board of Commissioners announced at the August 19th board meeting the hiring of the 4th executive director of the Macomb Park District, Blake Severs.
Severs is a lifelong resident of Macomb and had been with the District since March of 2023 in the Superintendent of Support Services position. Severs is a graduate of Macomb High School and the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Board President Neil Armstrong commented that he and the board look forward to Severs leading the district into the future.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director of the Macomb Park District,” stated Severs. “As a Macomb native, I care deeply about this community and look forward to serving as a steward of our parks and programs. I am eager to bring my passion for this town into this role and to strengthen connections with community members, local organizations, and surrounding communities. Together, we can continue to make our parks and recreational opportunities a source of pride for Macomb”.
The Macomb Park District serves over 15,000 residents with 9 locations. Recreational activities include ceramics & nature programming and special events like Movie in the Park, Touch-a-Truck and Pumpkin Smash.
