Climatologist discusses Missouri, Mississippi River levels

A weather expert says water levels along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers are in decent shape heading into planting season.

Justin Glisan, state climatologist for the Iowa Department of Agriculture, says, “With this more active storm track, especially in the Lower Missouri Basin, we could see increases in river levels.”

But he tells Brownfield he’s concerned about inland waterways. “With this record drought that we’re in, soil moisture has been depleted,” he said.
