A detention hearing was held on January 31st for Mr. Demink. Demink is now being represented by Attorney Nick Mason. Attorney Mason argued that Demink has surgery that was requested, and he needs dialysis in Kewanee three days a week. The defense and state provided arguments regarding pretrial detention. Judge Hathaway ruled that Demink remained detained because detention is necessary to avoid a real and present threat to the safety of any person or persons or the community or to prevent the defendant’s willful flight from prosecution.
Riley McLean: Riley McLean will remain in the Henry County Jail until Trial. The Court ordered a Fitness Evaluation and scheduled a status hearing for February 22, 2024, at 11 AM.
