Driver Identity Released from the Early Morning Fatal Accident

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the driver of the fatal crash in rural Geneseo early this morning.  In a release from Captain Franklin, Julia Birman, 35, of Atkinson was declared deceased at the scene after the vehicle she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation.  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office asks the public to please keep Julia’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Original Story – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has announced that one person is dead following a single vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 5th. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at approximately 1:01 AM in an area on Route 6 near 1825 East. Preliminary evidence suggests that the as yet unnamed victim struck a tree before coming to rest in a ditch. The victim was found dead at the scene. The Geneseo Fire/Ambulance Services, Geneseo Police Department, and the Henry County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene. At this time, no further information can be released. A follow up release will be conducted in the near future.
