The final numbers are in for deer hunting across the state of Illinois and Henry County saw a small bump up in the number of deer harvested in 2023 compared to one year ago. According to the numbers provided by the state of Illinois, hunters in Henry County bagged 459 deer in 2023. That number is up slightly from 2022 when Henry County hunters harvested 447 deer. Breaking it down by seasonal numbers, early in the year was stronger for Henry County hunters as hunters harvested 321 deer in the first half of 2023. There were 138 deer harvested in the second half of the year. In total, across the state of Illinois, hunters harvested 76,232 deer across the state. Adams County accounted for 2,151 deer harvested in 2023.
